Como Park Zoo & Conservatory (1225 Estabrook Dr, St. Paul, MN 55103) has been a Saint Paul institution since 1897 — free admission to the zoo, with a suggested donation, and admission charged for the Conservatory's floral shows and the Como Town amusement area. The zoo houses gorillas, giraffes, polar bears, and sea lions on 17 acres adjacent to Como Lake. Parking in the Como Park surface lots off Kaufman Drive is free but limited, and the lots fill quickly on summer weekends and during spring break.
Charter buses use the main Estabrook Drive entrance for drop-off and can wait in the outer lot areas during the visit. For school field trips, the zoo's education department runs structured programs with pre-registration required. A minibus or charter bus keeps student groups together and avoids the morning parking scramble in the Como neighborhood entirely.
